Jumping Into The Deep End!

On Monday students in Spanish began a design for their own waterpark. The task encouraged students to combine their Spanish knowledge with some Maths to work out budget requirements and some Science to reflect on environmental features.

At intervals "the government" and the "EU" announced new subsidies or fines, for example financial support for those parks who were using solar panels or providing local / organic food, or 50 euro fines for over-reliance on fast food!

The task will provide a starting point for shifting our learning focus from talking about holiday interests into reflecting on the importance of water in Spain where drought and forest fires are huge issues which effect the country every year.

Watch this space for details of a red carpet event next term to celebrate their environmental projects!
