It was treat day for students today and we managed to squeeze in a last minute trip to Skern Lodge, always a popular choice with students and a great outdoor adventure centre.
They were split into smaller groups and then took turns in experiencing a range of activities including The Assault Course, Archery, Climbing, High Ropes, Zip Wires and Obstacle courses.
The idea above anything is for them to enjoy the activities but, looking through the photographs of the day, two things really shine through. The first is how many photos show hands reaching out to help. Their approach to the activities really demonstrated how willing they are to help each other beat their fears and triumph over the task they have been set.
The second thing is how being in a small school, and learning in mixed age groups, creates great friendships and a real sense of family and community. All of the students and staff know each other, communicate with each other and support each other on a daily basis which shows in their interactions today.
